Many couples strive to make their wedding day personal and are looking for that one thing that will set their day apart from the rest. The goal of our occasional Chic & Unique series is to show you some of the unusual and elegant wedding finds we’ve discovered through our travels online. This month, we’re focusing on summer weddings. From decorations to favors to your grand exit, here are several summer wedding ideas you might not have thought of!
Custom Signage
We love these customized banners as decorations at your ceremony and/or reception. A variety of designs and colors means you’ll find something to fit your wedding day style, whether you’re marrying on the beach or in a blooming garden. Hang them at the entrance to your ceremony, or ask young kids you know to carry the sign down the aisle in your procession. They’re also great as backdrops at your reception or in banquet hall doorways. Personalized window clings are fun decorations on banquet hall doors, limousines, and getaway cars. Coordinate the design with the custom signs for a cohesive wedding day look!
Light the Night
You can’t always count on there being lightning bugs twinkling in the distance at your outdoor reception, but you can count on a little light when you give guests festive sparklers. Give them as favors at a July wedding – they’re sold in sets of six -- or ask guests to light them and shine them around you as you exit. Three different sizes mean your light can shine for as long as you’d like!
Colorful Stars
If you’d love a DIY wedding but aren’t crafty, spend a little time poking around Etsy.com, an online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods. The artist behind Harvest Moon by Hand makes these brightly colored stars by hand folding little squares of paper and then gluing them together to make intricate and beautiful patterns. There are a variety of colors and styles available, so you can choose something that matches your palette and style. Celebrate the sun, evoke the stars, or scatter your wedding colors by hanging these stars on windows or tables or incorporating them into your centerpieces.
Wine Décor
You don’t have to marry in a vineyard to make the wine served at your wedding part of the décor. Top the bottles with these lovely floral wine bottle toppers, and you have the makings of a unique (and useful) centerpiece! The artist can make the toppers to coordinate with your wedding’s colors and style. We think they would also look beautiful on empty wine bottles that have been converted to candleholders.
Pinwheel Candles
Summer is a carefree time for children, and you can harken back to the easy summers of your youth by giving guests these fun pinwheel candles as thank you favors. The colorful wings on the pinwheel are sure to bring your guests back to their childhoods, too. Each is prepackaged, so they couldn’t be easier to give! |
